Antique French Impressionist Landscape Oil Painting oil on canvas signed in monogram and dated 1921 lower right by Theodora Moore (1879-1968). Moore was a British artist who studied in Paris, in Bechenham at the “Yellow Door Art School,” and in St. Ives. The “Yellow Door Art School,” also known as the Spenlove School of Modern Art, was established by Frank Spenlove-Spenlove in Beckenham, an affluent London suburb, where he believed in the relaxed individualized French studio system of teaching art. Miss Moore painted primarily landscapes and exhibited at the Royal Academy. She became Principal of the Cathcart School of Modern Art.
